I really like this layout, but I have no idea who would print something this size (or if I could find a frame to fit it in). The size is 5x12, but really anything long and rectangular would work. I'll have to hunt around.

I've decided that blogging is relaxing. So is working on pictures. I decided not to take a nap yesterday and instead processed and posted pictures. So much better than napping! Crazy, I know. Today, however, I think I need a nap. I'm amazed at how short my patience is. Maybe Rachel is just acting sick, or like a 2-year-old, or maybe she's a bit jealous of Andrew, but whatever the reason, I can't handle her. Poor kid. She gets snapped at so much. Mommy really just needs to calm down.
Andrew was a bit tired of his "box" last night. He didn't go right back to sleep like he did the previous night, but maybe because he had already slept all day and just wasn't tired anymore. It's really hard to keep your kid awake when you can't really play with him or take him anywhere. He just gets to sit in this box and try to get his billirubin count down. It's hard to feel like we don't really have a baby yet. Hopefully soon. Keep your fingers crossed.

It's not that I can't sleep, it's that I really don't want to. I woke up about a half an hour ago (to once again visit the porcelain princess that resides in my bathroom, what else?) and realized that it will take much more effort to fall back asleep for the short time I had remaining than it would to just stay awake. Besides, my back is really done with uncomfortable sleeping. I seriously wake up every 2-3 hours and have to switch where I am sleeping. First in bed, then out in the living room, to the armchair with the heating pad, and then back to the bedroom. I miss sleeping on my stomach. It's also slightly weird to think that in an hour, I will go to the hospital and sometime today we'll have a baby. This is normally something you don't schedule. Aren't we supposed to have some mad dash to the hospital at an odd hour in the morning with me screaming my head off and saying "drive faster!" ? I suppose it's the best. At least they're not going to send me home because I'm not "really in labor".
I also realized yesterday that it was my last day with just Rachel & I. That thought was actually quite sad. I love my chica bug. She's my best friend that's almost 2. We really do everything together, and how's that going to work when there's 3 of us. Isn't 3 a crowd? I'm sure she really has no idea how much her life is about to change. She went to bed last night, clueless of the fact that, starting tomorrow, she will have to share her mother. She doesn't do so good with sharing just yet. We've been practicing though. On the flip side, I watch her with other babies and my heart melts. She's so soft and gentle. Loves to point out their toes, eyes, tickle their cheeks, and let me know that the baby does in fact have a diaper. She'll be a great big sister, and I think that makes everything else okay.

Our friends reduced themselves to guinea pigs as we wandered around Thanksgiving Point Gardens tonight taking pictures. It was great fun! Learned a few things...wish we had gotten a few better pictures, but it was a good experience nonetheless (not to mention it kept me from thinking about having a baby tomorrow). Since I won't be getting to the rest of the pictures in the next few days (weeks, years--how long does it take to get used to two kids?), I thought I would post a few now.

I was so excited to take Rachel out this morning and try out a photo location that I spotted yesterday. However, today she decided to act like a 2 year old. She wouldn't do anything I told her: wouldn't smile, wouldn't climb on the benches or explore the fence or do anything productive. It was just "no, no, no!". So frustrating. To top it off, I lost our card reader and haven't been able to pull any pictures off our camera (hence I haven't posted in awhile), so we had to stop by a store on our way home to replace it. I hate paying for being stupid. On the bright side, I really like the way the brick looks in that first picture. Too bad I couldn't get her to take any more.

Recently I saw some awesome baby pictures in a magazine and thought "I can do that." Ha. Not even close. Luckily, Brock is such a cute baby that these turned out okay anyway (after some serious color adjustment from my wacky lighting job--notice the black & white). *sigh* We just need to bite the rather large bullet and buy some lighting equipment. Sam's been looking into it rather seriously, but I just keep thinking that we have tuition, hospital bills, and a new computer all to pay for in the near future...donations anyone?
