Cute Family

I had this photoshoot right before we ran out of town last weekend. They were so much fun! The kids were being bribed with ice cream, and were great for me! Hope the ice cream was yummy!

Beautiful Seattle, WA

Sam & I are in Seattle for a few days to interview with Amazon, and it has seriously been sooo relaxing! The kids are staying with my parents, so we've had no schedule, can eat whenever we want, we got to sleep in, and I'm killing a few hours (while Sam does all the actual interviewing) at the coolest library I've ever seen. We are staying at the Hotel Andra (definitely not something we would have booked ourselves), went on a photowalkto the Seattle Center (think Space Needle) yesterday, and ate the yummiest seafood at McCormick's & Schmick's. Ahhhhh.... everyone needs a vacation. Especially if you are parents. Thanks Grandma & Grandpa!

A new addition to our studio: wood floor

We've been contemplating this for awhile now, and well, wood floors were on sale last night when we went to Costco. Who can resist a sale? Ha. The eventual plan is to have my bro-in-law make us a metal platform/frame so we can even switch out the color of the floor, take it apart, store it, etc. We mostly just wanted to make sure it was good idea before he went to all the trouble. Just don't ask where we're going to store it.

Anyway, pulled my lights out to play today and I'm really liking the look. There's also a few more fabric backdrops I have my eye on, but those will have to wait. What do you think?

And just to show how cute his pouty face is....

Newborn Session

This little guy had no desire to be in his birthday suit! Ahh well. He was such a cutie anyway. I decided to try something different and do the session at my client's home. It was so much harder than I thought it would be! There just has to be a crazy amount of natural light, and wouldn't you know it? It snowed that day. Grrr... I'm so ready for summer.

I heart David Cook's voice

Could he please just put out an album so I can buy it? I love his stuff. I love how he can take an overplayed song and do something entirely different with it. I hope he wins Idol. :)

Senior Girl

Here's the second of my senior reps for Jordan High. She was great! We had a lot of fun wandering around and she did awesome in front of the camera.

I've added a referral program for my seniors that I think they'll be really excited about. For every 5 referrals I get from them that book and complete a session, they get $100 in cash. Can't beat that, right? This goes for all seniors, not just reps, but I'm still looking for reps for other schools so spread the word...

Utah Lake Engagements

I did J&P's engagements and Utah Lake over the weekend. The location is seriously gorgeous. Had some problems with really bright sunlight, but these guys were great! I have J's bridals next month and then their wedding in June. It will be fabulous. :)

Backyard Fun

Inspired by last Friday's photog get-together (and Kara's daughter's awesome miss-matched outfit) I threw some clothes on the kiddos and we played in the "backyard" this morning. Really, it's a parking lot, but we'll take what we can get. We do have this awesome shed though...

Andrew's been pulling off these wacked-out faces lately. Totally cracks me up.
She looks like she might be enjoying herself, eh?

Okay, back to proofing for reals...

Girl's Night Out: SLC style

I had a get-together with a few photog friends last night in SLC, and I'm the slowest slacker to actually get pictures up on my blog! It was seriously a blast! One of the girls brought her daughter, and then we had another brother/sister combo for models. How awesome to spend time with people who share my same obsession! Hopefully we're going to do it again soon. Oh- and my lens? LOVE it.

I love her curls, her miss-matched outift and those shoes! So much fun color!

He was totally working the camera...
I love this skirt. It's gone on my wishlist for portrait props.

Canon EF 24-70m f/2.8L USM

Our third child arrived in the mail today. It's a beauty. That's right. We bought a lens. I will call it a child only because it cost just about as much as the other two, but oh man. I'm never going back. We are in trouble.

I have a couple of shoots this weekend, and some playing around before that so I'll get some images up soon. No worries.

Looking for '09 Senior Reps

I'm looking for a couple of '09 seniors to help advertise in their school. All reps receive a free senior portrait session, an 8x10, 8 wallets, and 50 rep cards to hand out to their friends and spread the word. I'm looking for a guy and a girl each high school, so send me an email, text, or give me call! I'm also open for any '08 seniors that haven't had their portraits done yet!

Speaking of seniors... this is my youngest brother. Man, I can't believe he's this old already. He consented to be a rep for his school, so we went out for our shoot last week. He's also an oboe player (very, very good) so I had to bring him into the studio and get some shots of him in his tux as well.

What are sisters for?

Rachel & Andrew are both having trouble sleeping right now (as in, at this very moment) and Andrew is making quite a racket as he tries to put himself back to sleep. From the living room we hear this:

Rachel: Andrew! Go sleep!
Andrew: Silence.
Andrew: Commences crying again.
Rachel: Go away buddy! You're in time out.

Sam and I are cracking up. We love Rachel. We really do. Being two has got to be so much fun.

24 Hour Fitness Standout Wall Display

We finally got it up! I know I've told a lot of you about this forever and I'm excited that we put it up last weekend. Andrew looks so good as a 16x20. But, I'm biased.

Anyway, for those of you I haven't told: 24 Hour Fitness has graciously allowed me to display 3 16x20 standout prints in their Kids' Club. This is a great opportunity for me to get my name out there and hopefully bring in new clients. I'm very excited about it.

Also- the standout mounting that I'm now offering totally rocks! Sam & I both wanted to keep these for our living room. It's a great option for a classy, clean, art look for any print. They come ready to hang. Think BIG people. They look soooo good. No more 8x10's. :)

Taylor Family

Mom is a good friend of mine from high school, and as they have never had family pictures they contacted me for a session. I swear I'm going to hire their little boy as my permanent model. Same cute face from my blog header (and my business card, and anything else I've found to stick him on) and he gave me the same sweet faces. I love it! They now have a new addition as well, and neither one of them liked the cold wind we had going on. I'm just so glad we got this session in before it snowed. I'm seriously ready for summer. Sorry for so many, I just couldn't decide.
