July Camping Trip #2: Hobble Creek

My parents randomly decided to come down and go camping, so we upped and joined them. It was great! Hobble Creek Canyon is one of my favorites even though it's lower and still pretty hot in July. We roasted weenies, s'mores, played Ticket to Ride (after the kids were in bed), and went on a hike Saturday morning to show off Rachel's geocache. We hid the cache last summer, and now have taken both sets of grandparents to go find it. So much fun!

Playing in Park

These are all Sam shots! Hooray! See, I'm not the only one with talent in this family. He actually always does a fantastic job, I'm just a camera hog. :) Sorry babes!

Sam took the kids to the park one evening while I was on a shoot. Rachel and Andrew both love playing in the park. Andrew spent most of his time in the tunnels as he doesn't ever, ever wear shoes and hates crawling in dirty things, and Rachel spends most of her time going down the slides.

When did my kids get so big?!

Wow... MIA

Yes... My blog has been neglected. Poor thing. I've been so busy I haven't had time to process pictures. But, no worries. They will be coming! Lots of camping, family pictures, and sessions! Wahoo! My favorite.

This family is seriously awesome! They have been great friends (and life savers!) for at least a couple of years (yes, I lose track...). I had fun with them in downtown Provo this week, and the weather was beautifully overcast. Love it.

My Baby

He gets bigger every day! We had our family pictures taken yesterday by Angie up in SLC. We wandered around quite a bit trying to find this location, but it was worth it! Love the color. The kids did great, and held on for quite awhile despite it being way past dinner time. This is the only one I've seen as Angie left on vacation this morning. Isn't it awesome!? I'm sure I'll post more when I get them.

Callie

Meet my fresh face! We actually had to do this session twice due to the unexpected addition of diaper rash. Ugh. Poor kid. She tried so hard to be happy, but it just wasn't working. I'm glad we rescheduled though, because this little girl is a fire-cracker. I love her already. And, randomly enough, Callie's mom & I have mutual friends. Small World After All.... okay, I won't sing. You wouldn't like it anyway. On to the pictures...

Trying out my new b&w action...
And in color...

Belated 4th of July post

So, I'm a slacker. I've had these all ready to post for at least a week and just haven't gotten around to it. So, here's to my late 4th of July! Cute Husband posted awhile ago, and you can read his post here. He explains why we absolutely needed to go camping on July 3rd and get away from Provo. :) And, after thinking that last year was our last year in Provo, I just couldn't handle the festivities this year.

We had tin foil (hobo) dinners, went for a walk, attempted to take awesome stream pictures (yes, I forgot the memory cards), made s'mores, put the kids to bed and sat around the fire talking and playing games. Soooo relaxing!

Andrew's first time camping! He did so well, despite the fact that I upset all of our digestive systems a few days before with a burrito dinner (oops!). He had trouble sleeping because his tummy hurt so bad! What a trooper!

Classic inside-joke picture. I think we take one like this with our tent every time we go camping.
Making s'mores with daddy. Rachel LOVES these.

Fun at a Mini Session

Meet Braddock. He was one of the first little boys I photographed back in September after I had Andrew, so he's always been one of my favorites. Braddock was so cute then, and has just gotten cuter with time! I absolutely love his hair. And, he loves to run. Wow. He was seriously all over the place. It was great!

Ode to my Phone

I hate getting a new cell phone. Especially under duress.

The screen on my beloved Motorola V330 died last week. I wanted to cry. The phone still worked to send and receive calls, but no text messages, no calendar reminders, no contact list, couldn't tell if someone had left me a voicemail, nothing. So, I did what any person would do. I got on Ebay and bid on a phone that ended ASAP. Enter the Motorola W490. It's okay. I'm not super-stoked, but it'll get me by.

The thing that really has me ticked off, is that all of my contacts & phone numbers, pictures, ring tones, EVERYTHING was stored on the stupid phone. Why, oh why, did I not think to store them on the SIM card? HELLO!? Dumb. So, after unsuccesfully pulling apart my V330 in the attempts to re-wire the screen by hand long enough to pull my files, Cute Husband has been helping me re-create wallpaper and ringtones. I love him, and he, very obviously, loves me.

Why am I posting about this, you ask? I just wanted to let you know that I no longer have anyone's phone numbers. Nope. Nada. Zip. Unless you call me I really have no way to get a hold of you. Sad, huh? I'm sorry. I haven't memorized phone numbers. That's what my phone is for, right? Anyway, if you'd like to talk to me (which I would hope that you do) shoot me an email with your # and I'll add you to my new phone. C'mon. It needs friends.
